OUR OWN BOURBON

SHIPPING BEGINS MARCH 18th

Most of the Shaker villages in America produced “ardent spirits” for both sale and consumption, especially during the first half of the 19th century. The most common forms of alcohol produced were wine, brandy, and hard cider. The South Union Shakers, however, constructed a stillhouse in the early 1820s and began making whiskey. The product was a popular favorite among their customers and was also enjoyed by the Shakers themselves. After nearly a decade of production, and with the rise of the early vestiges of the temperance movement, Shaker leadership in New Lebanon, New York, demanded that production cease in 1828. South Union was the only Shaker village in America that made whiskey, inspiring us to unveil our own bourbon in December 2024. The label designed for the bottle is derived from a fruit preserve label used by South Union in the 1870s.

4-year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

tasting notes

Dried fruit and green tea balanced by undertones of caramel and honey over baked apples. A refreshing spice hits the palate and is followed by a balanced finish. Heavy on the center of the tongue, and the rye lingers on the roof of the mouth, before providing your Kentucky hug.

A traditional Kentucky Bourbon recipe with a dried fruit aroma with a milder caramel and oak flavor.
