aprLINE AS EVIDENCE: THE SPIRIT DRAWING RECONSIDERED

Event Details

Students from Western Kentucky University’s Art Department (Drawing 340, 341, 440–Moksha Sommer) present a new exhibition of works at South Union Shaker Village. Inspired by the historic spirit drawings created by young Shaker women, these pieces explore drawings as a means of expressing intuition, belief, and the unseen, while responding directly to the sacred and historic context of the site where they are shown. This exhibition marks the second semester of this collaboration, brought back in response to the strong resonance and enthusiasm for the first exhibit.
